Spotlight for the acorn

In December 2019, the acorn took centre stage in the Netherlands Open Air Museum. During the winter event ‘Grossly delicious’, the acorn returned to its past as a nutritious ingredient. Museum visitors were invited to taste grossly delicious acorn bites, cake made from acorn flour and a warm acorn drink. The conclusion: the acorn tastes less gross than you’d expect and could serve a purpose during possible future food shortages.
