The Taste of Tomorrow

70 foreign ambassadors based in the Netherlands paid a field visit to the Province of Gelderland on Monday 8 May 2023. They were introduced to new techniques and products in the field of food innovation.

The day started in Wageningen, where they learnt more about the latest innovations in food and agriculture. Then, the attendees went back in time to learn more about Dutch food and farming traditions at the Netherlands Open Air Museum in Arnhem.

The Taste of Tomorrow stands for the revaluation of artisanal food. And the application of new ingredients, consistent with sustainable, healthy food production and consumption with roots in ancient cultures worldwide. It is based on essential values such as health, plant-based dishes, innovative ingredients (novel foods), preservation techniques, circular agriculture, local production, collaboration, and the seasons.

Studio Katja Gruijters wants to thank trainees Bregje van Tienen and Nora van Loon; Pleuni Timmermans; the tasting kitchen, and enthusiastic volunteers of the Province of Gelderland; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Gelderland Deputy Peter Drenth for his engaging speech.
