FOOD-X Future Concepting: from trend to future-proof food concept

On 14 July 2026, we are launching the new collaboration between the gateway to agrifood innovations FOOD-X and Studio Katja Gruijters.

Within FOOD-X, Katja develops and leads the new FOOD-X Future Concepting Programme: a programme for teams that want to translate trends, challenges, and future scenarios into concrete future-proof food concepts. An in-depth programme in which teams work on creating new value, direction and actionable concepts.

Many organisations notice developments in the areas of health, circularity, technology, sustainability, and new forms of production and consumption. This leads to the question: what do these developments mean for our product, our market, or our business model?

FOOD-X Concepting Toolkit

What does the process look like? Led by Katja Gruijters, participants work with the FOOD-X Concepting Toolkit. This toolkit helps identify opportunities, challenges and blind spots, and transforms ideas into strong food concepts. Where relevant, partners from the FOOD-X ecosystem are brought in to further develop, deepen, test or move concepts towards implementation.

Katja brings her experience as a food designer and concept developer to the table, alongside partners from her own ecosystem. They include Michael Luesink and Dennis Favier from Studio Fava, and Susanne Mosmans from Brand Energetics.
