International Workshop Week 2025 – HGK Basel

From 13 to 17 October 2025, I had the pleasure of leading the ‘Healthy Pleasure’ workshop during the International Workshop Week 2025 of the bachelor’s programme in Industrial Design at HGK Basel (Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW).

 

Together with workshop leaders Tobias Nüesch, Tu Van Giang, and Scott Barwick, we created an inspiring week in which students explored new perspectives on design. During Healthy Pleasure, we investigated how pleasure can contribute to healthier and more sustainable eating habits. The focus was not on restriction or guilt, but on playful interventions, sensory experiments and creative research.

 

In 5 intensive days, the students developed innovative food concepts – from a beautifully designed restaurant balance table for fast and slow eaters, to an edible memory game that helps slow down snacking behaviour.
