Grape workshop on 27 September
On Sunday 27 September, the Vitaceae family (grapes) had the honor to be the last workshop of the Farm Food Family tour. It was a festive day at Winery Montferland!
After an extensive tour from owner and winegrower Leon Masselink, we made rolls with grape leaves. The results were very beautiful and tasteful! After that we tasted Montford wines with vinologist Mark Bergevoet. Then chef Karin Goossens took us on a journey through an experimental grape lab, where we found fermented grapes, grape caviar, verius, grape ketchup and grape blossom tincture. We ended this sensational program with ice wine, a fermented grape with cheese and a grape fruit leather tastery. It was an educational and very atmospheric day, thanks to all who were involved!
The grape workshop was a worthy ending to a series of special workshops about flavors from the Achterhoek. At the moment, we investigate possibilities to continuate the development of the project Raken met Smaken and the Farm Food Family concept. We keep you posted!
